You Might Be a Techie If…

If you can’t remember the last time that you thought of a cloud as a “visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the atmosphere,” then you’re probably a techie. Cloud services are proving to be very successful and the competition is starting to get stiff between services like Apple’s icloud, Dropbox, Microsoft’s SkyDrive, and Google’s new product, Drive. Amongst these technological heavy hitters, Adobe has recently announced their cloud service. Developers, designers, and enthusiasts are all buzzing about the news. But does Adobe’s Creative Cloud bring the perfect storm or a mere drizzle?

Adobe’s Creative Cloud is described as a digital hub that lets you download and install every Adobe Creative Suite 6 application. Additionally, you can access online services for file sharing, collaboration, and publishing. With all the additional tools and apps you’ll have constant access to in the cloud, you’ll be able to build and share more effectively.

However, the Adobe Creative Cloud comes at a cost. Plans start at $49.99 USD per month ($599.88/year) for 20gb. And while this may seem like a small figure in comparison to the cost of the Creative Suite, competitor cloud service providers are asking monthly charges that begin as low as $0.83 USD per month for 20gb ($10/year). Will Adobe’s Creative Cloud and its feature set warrant its monthly price tag? How do you feel about Adobe’s Creative Cloud’s features? We would love to know.
